Paris

When I decided to leave for Paris, I had just one thought in my mind: shooting redscale film! Weather was weird – overcast most of the time, it turned into sunny when I least expected. It didn’t matter though. I was searching for yellowish tones, and I think I got what I wanted.

Surrender to the obviousness that, even if we didn’t mean to make a mess of it, we ended up by spoiling everything. In that moment, when we realize that we have gone too far, we can only fall apart, put ourselves back together and start over again.

When there’s no way to go back and fix it, then we can only change direction and search for a new point of view – whatever this means for each of us.

Venezia

Una passeggiata a Venezia.

Solo qualche ora a disposizione e tanta, troppa meraviglia per i miei occhi e le mie intenzioni fotografiche che, questa volta, sono andate letteralmente in crisi.

Il lirismo di Venezia, la sua unicità, sono davvero difficili da tradurre in immagini.

Cosa non deve andare perduto nella sua rappresentazione? Cosa possiamo permetterci di escludere?

Cari lettori, io non ho una risposta. Solo qualche fotografia con la quale spero che vi arrivi almeno una piccola parte della sua incredibile atmosfera.

I had a walk in Venice.

Just a few hours and too much beauty for my eyes and my photographic purpose which, this time, went literally into crisis.

The lyricism of Venice, its unbelievable uniqueness, are so difficult to translate into images.

What do we have to include in its portrayal? What can we leave behind?

My dear readers, I don’t have an answer. But just some photographs which, I hope, will evoke its extraordinary atmosphere.
